Common Questions About My Practice
Are you accepting new clients?
I am currently accepting new clients who reside in Texas & North Carolina. Please click here to schedule a consultation, or if you’re ready to get started, schedule your intake session!
Do you offer in-person sessions?
Is virtual therapy as effective as in-person therapy?
No, I currently offer virtual sessions for clients residing in North Carolina & Texas.
Yes. Research consistently shows that virtual therapy is just as effective as in‑person sessions for most concerns, including trauma, anxiety, depression, and relationship issues. What matters most is the quality of the therapeutic relationship, not the physical location.
Virtual sessions also offer benefits many clients appreciate:
The comfort of meeting from home
More flexibility with scheduling
No commute or travel time
A private, secure environment
Easier consistency, which often improves outcomes
Many clients find they open up more easily in a familiar space, and clinicians use the same evidence‑based approaches they use in person. With virtual care, you can feel confident you’re receiving the same level of support and clinical effectiveness.
What are your rates?
Initial Assessment - $200
Follow-Up Session - $180
How often do I need to attend sessions?
After our initial intake appointment, I will create a personalized treatment plan based on your unique needs and therapy goals. Typically, we will meet once a week at the beginning and then decide together when it's best to adjust the frequency of our sessions.
Do you accept insurance?
I am out-of-network but can provide a superbill for my out-of-network clients that you can submit to your insurance for reimbursement.
I have also partnered with Thrizer to help you utilize out-of-network benefits. If you’ve already met your deductible, you may only need to pay your copay for sessions, saving you up to 70% upfront. Even if you haven’t met your deductible yet, Thrizer can still help by automatically submitting claims and applying payments toward that deductible. We know that the cost of therapy can be a significant hurdle in taking care of your mental health. We want to help you maximize your out-of-network benefits, allowing you to focus on your well-being. Please click here to complete the form, and I will review it and get back to you with your information within a couple of days.
Why I choose not to be in-network with insurance.
Many therapists choose not to work in‑network because insurance companies often limit the quality and depth of care clients can receive. In‑network plans can deny claims more frequently, restrict the number of sessions allowed, and require therapists to justify continued treatment by proving a client is still “not improving.” They also have the authority to dictate the type, pace, and focus of therapy, which can interfere with the individualized, client‑centered work I believe creates real change. By remaining out‑of‑network, I’m able to provide care that is guided by your needs, not by insurance rules, and support you for as long as therapy is helpful.
